Before looking into RBI bank exams and their eligibility criteria, let us first look into its historical background. Reserve Bank of India is the Central or Apex Bank of India. It is also known as banker’s bank and bank of last resort. Reserve Bank of India does transactions on behalf of the Central Government or state government. RBI is a controller of monetary and other banking policies in India.
In 1933, The White paper on Indian Constitutional Reforms recommended the bill for creation of RBI. The Reserve Bank of India was established on 1st April, 1935 under Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. It was acting as a private shareholder’s bank with a paid up capital of Rs. 5 Crores. In 1949, the Reserve Bank of India was nationalised under the Reserve Bank (Transfer of Public Ownership) Act, 1948. The Reserve Bank of India have a headquarter in Mumbai with 27 departments in operation currently
Reserve Bank of India conducts this exam every year. Minimum age of an individual should be 21 years and maximum age should be 30 years. Candidates should be at least undergraduate to apply for the exam. There is no fixed date for RBI Grade B notification and conduction of exam. RBI Grade B exam consists of Phase I exam (200 marks), Phase II exam (300 marks) and an interview (50 marks)

Reserve Bank of India conducts an exam for clerical/Assistant every year. Minimum age of an individual should be 21 years and maximum should be 28 years. This exam is conducted in three phases i.e. Prelims, Mains and an Interview.

• The minimum qualifying percentage or an equivalent grade for the Bachelor’s degree will be in aggregate for all semesters / years. |
Officers in Grade ‘B’ (DR) – DEPR | • A Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute OR
• PGDM/ MBA Finance with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute; OR • Master’s Degree in Economics in any of the sub-categories of economics i.e. agricultural/ business/ developmental/ applied, etc., with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognised Indian or Foreign University /Institute. |

• A Master’s Degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Mathematical Economics/ Econometrics/ Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Kharagpur/ Applied Statistics & Informatics from IIT-Bombay with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years OR
• Master’s Degree in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters / years and one year post graduate diploma in Statistics or related subjects from an Institute of repute; OR • Post Graduate Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur and IIM Calcutta with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years. |
