Bank SO is a specialist officer of a bank who are specialized in their respective field. There are total of 6 types of specialist officer in a bank i.e. IT Officer, Law Officer, Agricultural Field Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari, Marketing as well as Human Resource Officer.   • Specialist Officers are free from general banking works
  • There are no customer dealings. They do not have to interact with general public
  • They are more respected than bank PO and Clerk and receive a bit more salary than that of bank PO

Apart from private banks, there are three types of SO exams in India

  • IBPS SO
  • SBI SO
  • IBPS RRB SO

 

IBPS SO

Institute of Banking and Personnel Selection conducts specialist Officers exam every year in the months of December and January. The minimum age of an individual should be 20 years and maximum age should be 30 years

4. Law Officer (Scale I) A bachelor’s degree in Law and enrolled as an advocate with Bar Council
5. HR/Personnel Officer (Scale I) Graduate and Full Time Post Graduate Degree or Full-time Diploma in Personnel Management/ Industrial Relation/ HR/ HRD/ Social Work/ Labour Law
6. Marketing Officer (Scale I) Graduate and Full-Time MMS (Marketing)/ MBA (Marketing)/Full time PGDBA/ PGDBM with specialization in Marketing

State Bank of India Specialist Officer

State Bank of India is a largest Public Sector Ban of India which conducts Specialist Officer Exams every year. There are no post for fresher like in IBPS SO. Every post in State Bank of India requires an experience of at least 2 years. Kindly find the list of SBI SO exam here

Generally SBI Specialist Officers exam consists of three stages Prelims, Mains and an Interview

IBPS RRB SO

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection conducts Regional Rural Bank Specialist Officer exam every year. This exam is easy as compared to IBPS and SBI Specialist Officer exams. Minimum age of an individual should be 21 years and maximum age should be 32 years. There is no scale I post like in IBPS SO. IBPS RRB conducts exam for specialist officers only for scale II and scale III.

Salary Packages- In hand salary of an IBPS SO is Rs. 36,500/- and that of SBI SO is Rs. 42,200/-. The in hand salary of an IBPS RRB SO is a bit less that these two i.e. Rs. 33,500/-. The mentioned salaries in IBPS depends upon the bank and city living
